Influential Youth Leader Jason Freer
Testimony

Favorite Scripture:
Jeremiah 29:11 "For I know the plans I have for you, declares the LORD, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future."

Personal Testimony:

I was born and raised in Johnstown, PA. Although I accepted Christ at 8 years of age, it wasn't until I was 16 that I got plugged into my churches' youth ministry and made the Lord not only my Savior but also Lord. I attended college at Liberty University, as a Biblical Studies major with a focus on Youth and Student Ministry. I live with the purpose that God has created each one of our lives to do great things for Him. At 18 years old the Lord called me to reach the lost. I have a passion to see teens come to know Christ and serve Him with their whole life, to grow through His Word and to make disciples in and throughout their world. I enjoy using creative ways to teach God's Word through music and leading worship. I became the Youth Pastor at Beaverdam Baptist Church in December 2002. I stand firm on the verse John 10:10.

FCA Testimony:

I have a real passion to see student believers not only reaching the lost, but serving together and holding other brothers and sisters in Christ accountable. In many public schools today a Christian student can feel lost, not knowing how to live strong and not finding the encouragement from other students to be all they can for Christ.  Satan tries to lie to the Christian teen and tell them that they are the only voice for Christ in their school and that the joy, love, and saving message of hope in the Gospels have no place on the public school campus.  But by the name of Jesus, Satan's lies are defeated and CHRIST gets the victory in our public schools!!! The Lord gave me the thought, that if students from my church could be connected to other believers in their school, their faith would be strengthened. That’s how a dormant FCA started to grow new life and fresh spiritual fruit in Patrick Henry High School in Hanover County. We started meeting weekly with 7 students. Soon students started asking how and where they could be involved. Students stepped up to help lead a weekly before school FCA Huddle in the band room. Each week a different pastor, Christian role model, or Christian community leader is scheduled to come and share about living and serving Christ, and how students can reach their school. What started small, 3 years ago has grown as the Lord's hand has blessed it. Now with a full worship band and solid student leadership team, the Huddle has grown to really make a difference with students, teachers and administration alike. Wednesday mornings, before school, students flood into the band room 45 minutes before the start of their first class to be encouraged and to hear a word from God and His Word. There is nothing more amazing then hearing the voices of 40 plus students singing praise to their Lord right in their public school. FCA students are working hard to make a difference for Christ in their school and community through service projects. Students have partnered to help families in need in Hanover, worked with organizations that reach overseas like "Operation Christmas Child" and locally with the multi-church outreach day "Mission to Hanover". As a ministry to the football team, during football season FCA students help Beaverdam Baptist Church serve dinner to the hungry, young football players before every PH home game.  The great thing about FCA at Patrick Henry is to see how students really take the lead. There is even talk from some of the Christian football players, that next year they want to buy Bibles for their teammates and pray over the players helmets before each game. When students are aflame for Jesus all those around are affected for eternity!!!
